How do we write?
We put the pen to the paper and we move our hand.
We start with the first thing that comes, and we continue with all that follows.
We do not censor, we do not edit, we do not cross out.
We often do not capitalize or use puncuation or concern ourselves with run on sentences.
We share what’s inside of us, and when we do not know what to share, because we feel afraid, or overwhelmed, or distracted, we write that we don’t know what to share or that we have so much to share.
We write about the mundane and tedious thoughts moving through us until we feel open and brave enough to write about the layer beneath.
With courage and openness there will always be another layer.
We write and write until we feel empty.
